Assessment plan
A year-end capstone portfolio and celebration of each learner's own work as a co-author of their education and their life; an integrated self-and-values "who I have become" reflection; a self-directed meaningful-life-goal handoff into adult life; a belonging-solidarity-responsibility weighing; and a local-to-global solidarity action, as closing artifacts handed off to adult life.
Unit 12 — All of Me, All of Us
Overview
This unit gathers the capstone year together, building on Grade 11’s closing celebration. Learners return to the integrated sense of who they are, what they value, and how they will act, held together across contexts, and reflect on how they have exercised self-directed agency by setting, planning, and acting on a meaningful life goal with autonomy and accountability. They reflect on weighing belonging, solidarity, and collective responsibility in deciding how to act for the common good, and on acting on collective responsibility for people and the Earth, connecting local action to global solidarity. They celebrate each whole person, the solidary community they have built, and the living Earth — and hand themselves off to adult life as whole persons and citizens of the living world.
Essential questions
- Who am I — in full — as I hand my integrated self and my meaningful life goal off to adult life?
- How do I weigh belonging, solidarity, and collective responsibility, and act on them for people and the Earth, from local action to global solidarity?
