All of Me, All of Us
Objectives
- D01.S2.09.01 Construct a coherent personal narrative that connects their past, present, and hoped-for future.
- D01.S2.09.02 Analyze how a person's identity is shaped by their society and, in turn, shapes their choices.
- D01.S3.09.01 Set a longer-term goal with a realistic plan and milestones, and adjust it as needed.
- D02.S3.09.01 Compare forms of community across cultures, including chosen families and mutual-aid networks.
- D02.S4.09.02 Design a cooperative project that meets a real need in their community.
Essential questions
- What coherent story now connects my past, present, and hoped-for future, and how does my society shape me while I shape it back?
- How do I set the longer-term goal that will carry me into Grade 10, and how do I stand with others in the communities I care about?
Big ideas
- A coherent personal narrative and a longer-term goal with plans and milestones carry me forward as the author of my own life.
- Belonging takes many forms across cultures, and designing a cooperative project that meets a real need is how care becomes action.

Assessment plan
A year-end portfolio and celebration of each learner's own work as a co-author of their education; a "who I am becoming" personal-narrative reflection, a longer-term goal with plans and milestones, a forms-of-community reflection, and a designed cooperative community project as closing artifacts.
Unit 14 — All of Me, All of Us
Overview
This unit gathers the year together, building on Grade 8’s closing celebration. Learners return to their coherent personal narrative, connecting past, present, and hoped-for future, and reflect on how their society shapes them and how they in turn shape it back. They set the longer-term goal with a realistic plan and milestones that will carry them into Grade 10, compare forms of community across cultures, and design a cooperative project that meets a real need in their community. They celebrate each whole person, the caring community they have built, and the living Earth — and look ahead to Grade 10, where a personal narrative becomes a considered position, identity is examined as socially and historically constructed, and the ethics of technology and the environment deepen into full political and ecological stewardship.
