Overview
This unit meets technology, media, and the living Earth with neither worship nor fear. Learners name a tool people use at home or school and describe how it makes a task easier or faster; tell a real photo from a drawing or pretend story and say who made a picture, poster, or story and for whom; tell a living thing from a nonliving thing and name two things a plant and an animal both need; and practice small acts of care — wasting less and helping care for a plant or animal. Ecology is not a chapter; it is the ground we stand on.
