Objectives

Unit 9 — People, Places & Long Ago
Overview
This unit steps into the wider human story, gently and personally. Learners sequence three or four events from their own day or week and compare one thing from long ago with one thing today; describe a family or community tradition and compare how two families or communities celebrate or mark an event; describe the place where they live and use a simple map or globe to find it and one other place; and tell when a story character is treated unfairly, and one kind act where someone helped another. History is “then and now,” told from many perspectives, never a single nation’s triumph.
