Unit 8 — Healthy, Safe & Strong

Overview

This unit returns to the body with growing independence, building on Grade 1’s food groups and self-care routines. Learners build a simple balanced meal by choosing foods from several groups, explain the importance of drinking water, explain why handwashing, tooth-brushing, and rest help prevent sickness, and identify trusted adults at home and school to ask for help. The body is taught with dignity, never shame, and the wide range of bodies and ways of eating is honored.

Essential questions

  • How do I build a balanced meal and keep my body well with water, rest, and care?
  • How do I stay safe and know whom to ask for help?
