My Body, Movement & Wellness
Objectives
- D03.S1.07.01 Notice and name internal body signals such as hunger, fatigue, and stress accurately in themselves.
- D03.S2.07.01 Apply strategies such as spacing, timing, and teamwork in a game or sport.
- D03.S2.07.02 Describe how movement changes during puberty and adapt activities to their own changing body.
- D03.S3.07.01 Describe how energy needs differ among bodies and activities, and why restricting food can harm a growing body.
Essential questions
- How do I notice and name my body's internal signals — hunger, fatigue, stress — accurately?
- How do I move with skill and teamwork, and adapt movement to my own changing, growing body?
- How do energy needs differ among bodies, and why does fueling a growing body matter?
Big ideas
- Internal body signals are information I can learn to read accurately.
- Movement during puberty changes, and adapting activities to one's own body is skill, not limitation.
- Energy needs differ among bodies and activities, and restricting food can harm a growing body.

Unit 2 — My Body, Movement & Wellness
Overview
This unit reads the body with new inward precision, building on Grade 6’s mind–body connection and its work of naming how emotions and body sensations connect. Learners notice and name internal body signals — hunger, fatigue, stress — accurately in themselves, and apply strategies such as spacing, timing, and teamwork in a game or sport. They describe how movement changes during puberty and adapt activities to their own changing body, and describe how energy needs differ among bodies and activities, and why restricting food can harm a growing body. The body is taught with dignity and joy, honoring the wide range of bodies and abilities, and the uneven, rapid growth of these years is named as normal, never shameful.
