Unit 10 — Fairness & Our Shared Rules
Overview
This unit turns to ethics and shared life, building on Grade 1’s kind and unkind choices and Kindergarten’s sharing and taking turns. Learners tell the difference between what is right and wrong to do and give a reason, explain how a kind or unkind act affects another person’s feelings, explain why treating everyone the same is not always fair, name a right children have and why it matters, explain how a group makes a fair decision together, identify how people in their community help one another and how they could join in, describe a conflict and a peaceful way to solve it, and explain what makes an apology real. Questions are held as questions, not answered as dogma.
