Unit 10 — Then & Now: Stories of People
Overview
This unit introduces history as a gentle “then and now,” told through stories and artifacts rather than dates. Children tell a then-and-now story about themselves or their family, listen to stories and songs from other cultures, talk about a place they have been or a family story of moving, and retell gentle stories about fairness. The past is held as a story of many peoples, never one nation’s triumph.
