My Body, My Movement & My Growth
Objectives
- D03.S1.05.01 Explain the mind-body connection with a simple example, such as how worry can make a stomach feel tight.
- D03.S1.05.02 Describe how bodies grow and change at different rates and that every pace is normal.
- D03.S2.05.01 Refine a specific motor skill, such as throwing accurately or balancing, through repeated practice and give a peer helpful feedback.

Unit 3 — My Body, My Movement & My Growth
Overview
This unit reads the body with new precision, building on Grade 4’s sense of how the body changes with activity and rest. Learners explain the mind–body connection with a simple example, such as how worry can make a stomach feel tight, and describe how bodies grow and change at different rates — and that every pace is normal. They refine a specific motor skill, such as throwing accurately or balancing, through repeated practice and give a peer helpful feedback, and explain how regular movement benefits the heart, muscles, and mood. The wide range of human bodies and abilities is honored with dignity and joy, never shame.
Essential questions
