Unit 5 — Words, Sounds & Stories
Overview
This unit welcomes learners into the shared world of language. Children listen to stories and retell what matters, begin to recognize the letters or characters of their home writing system, draw and dictate their own ideas, and share greetings across languages. The home language is honored first; multilingualism is treated as a wealth, not a deficit, and every way of speaking is respected.
